I remember watching the TV series Rin Tin Tin back when I was a lad. I don’t remember much, except that many episodes ended with the sound of the bugle and the cavalry galloping in just in time to save the day. I think I had a naive expectation that an intervening international force could charge into Port-au- Prince, eliminate the gangs and open the streets and highways so that needed fuel, food, and medicine could be delivered. It doesn’t appear that anything like that will happen. It’s all too complicated. No one can predict when schools will be able…
